The Wight
The Wight – from Descent Legends of the Dark
Thank you Wight!! Finally, I am here once again writing an article about something I painted! Since I am father now, it’s really not easy to get your passions going, but I can’t be any happier anyways!
The Wight was the last set of miniatures from the original box – I cannot believe I painted them all.
To paint these miniatures was really funny, because I found myself very passionate about rusty metals – and the technical paints from Citadel, really do the job.
I have combined standard paints, contrast paint and technical paint together and I found out they work well together. I have always been under the impression that I could only speed paint or do it the old way. Honestly, I did some experiments and sky is the limit. I have started speed-painting the base of the Wight, but I have added some final touches painting the leaves using regular paints (like I did with a very old miniature I painted). Same for the long beard and furs. The skin was also speed-painted, but highlighted with normal paint (and shades afterwards).
The metal objects like the swords and the helmets were firstly painted using Leadbelcher from Citadel. After, I have used both Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust. I would recommend you to have a look at this video if you want to know how to use those paints.
Take a risk – at the end of the day, we are all having fun here, aren’t we?
