The Bandit

The Bandit – from Descent Legends of the Dark

The Bandit is a very interesting mini, but hey, he doesn’t want to be noticed! I think the Bandit it’s kind of a ninja assassin, so doesn’t have anything that stands out. My intention was to show as many details as possible on the Bandit and highlight all the small details it contains (knives, potions, arrows…). Also, I wanted to catch the light playing with shades of grey and black.

The base is very colourful because I wanted to really contrast the very dark tones of the miniatures.

I have used a metal effect paint from Citadel that really helps giving a beautiful realistic metallic effect to the blades – Leadbelcher.

I have used Contrast Paints for the base, but I picked all the details (like the leafs) and paint them all with regular paints.

Shades helped me a lot with the face and also with the blades. The lights effect on the purple bottles I believe are a nice touch, tho!

I have been playing with black tones sometimes – for example in this priest from Mansion of Madness – but I am really happy with the final result!
