Dr. Octopus

Dr. Octopus from Marvel Crisis Protocol

Dr. Octopus is a big miniature (like Ultron) but all his details make this character a very fun miniature to paint.

I started with Dr. Octopus clothes – yellow first – and I used the Citadel’s Contrast Paints all along.

Iyanden Yellow for the golden/yellowish parts, Ork Flesh for the green and Apothecary White for the metallic/grey parts. The colours were perfect and they were very easy to apply. Needless to say, I really like the final effect on the miniature.

Dr. Octopus has a very strong pose and I wanted to highlight that by providing some darker areas: after applying the colours I mentioned above, I’ve also selectively apply some Nuln Oil.

There are other small details, like the glasses, and I used a standard black for them: just a smaller brush 🙂

I think you can see, I applied the same “logic” to the base: what I am trying to create here is some consistency, just in case I will decide to build a proper terrain for the game.

I’ve almost finished the Marvel Crisis Protocol main box and I will start pretty soon with the terrain elements (cars, buildings, dumpsters). Can’t wait to finish up this box and finally start playing the game! 🙂
