Jain Fairwood
from Descent – Journeys in the Dark (2nd edition)
Jain Fairwood was the last hero in the in the box (I bought an expansion already, don’t worry 🙂 ). Her strong pose helps a lot and it was easy enough to catch the right light to apply to the miniature.
I primed the whole miniature in white but I applied some Nuln Oil right after to bring up the details of the miniature (I don’t use this technique very often but good to have in case you need it). Please note: keep the miniature at a good distance from the spry to keep a good level of details.
I applied the base color but I left the cloak for the end, along with the other purple parts. The model is full of strings and small details on the armor so I wanted them to stand out and I picked different colors.
I shaded Jain Fairwood (except for the skin) with Aggrax Earthshade before painting the purple areas. I shaded them with Druchii Violet & Drakenhof Nightshade. For the skin, I used Reikland Fleshshade.
Again, I rebased the miniature using a Micro Art Studio base and some turf I’ve got from this eBay seller. Look at the Merriod for another solution for the base.
