Red Skull
Red Skull from Marvel Crisis Protocol
Red Skull is another miniature I speed-painted by using the Citadel’s Contrast paints.
The main reason is that Red Skill is “quite simple” to paint: a big black area, a small red one and an even smaller blue one. I didn’t want a flat result and unfortunately with black it’s very risky. I find black a very difficult colour to highlight properly so I was very curious to explore the result given by a black Contrast paint.
Red Skull was an experiment but I am very happy with the result. I used mainly Black Templar and Blood Angels Red. I applied Stormhost Silver to make a couple of details stand out.
The Tesseract is a different story. I could have paint it just blue but I wanted to add some reflections – no speed-paints here! I used 3 different Citadel’s type of blue and I gave the final highlights by using a Vallejo Sky Blue.
Same old story for the base – same as Cap.
I personally think that Contrast paint actually help: I won’t switch to them but they are a good tool to have in your arsenal.
I will paint – using more or less the same colours – Black Widow pretty soon. Stay tuned!! 🙂
