The Goblins Archers
from Descent – Journeys in the Dark (2nd edition)
The Goblins Archers from Descent – Journeys in the Dark (second edition) are actually the last miniature I painted (so far!).
I painted them in batch to finish them all (no more Goblins).
I found painting in batch a very convenient practice, especially if you have a set of miniatures to paint.
Miniatures were primed in grey and, right after, I provided some white from above, it really helps to map the light.
I applied my base colors first and I shaded them all with an equal mix of Agrax Earthshade, Nuln Oil and Lahmian Medium.
Finally, the highlights! I focused on the skin of the Goblins Archers mostly (the most prominent part of the miniatures (green skin, like Widow Tarha). I applied again a touch of the original base color and I highlighted it further adding some Moot Green but I added some white too to push the highlights a little further.
Because I am picky I highlighted the rest of the miniature too but they were good enough with a good skin tone. It was nice to highlight the armour, the bow and the arrows too.
I used only Citadel paints (as usual) and for those miniature I decided to use 0 and 1 brushes. If you are looking for brushes, I strongly recommend Winsor & Newton Series 7. I bought them on Amazon.
